Golden Birthday

Today is my Golden Birthday. 27 years old on the 27th of April. YIKES. Anyway you put a spin on it, it just doesn't sound good. I think the "G" is silent in Golden.

Happy Birthday, Me.

Golden Birthday, huh. I didn't know there was a term for that! Or else, it's been too long since I turned 16 on the 16th. Glad to see you got yourself an early present. Hope you enjoy life at 27!

From the newspaper:
If April 27 is your birthday: You are in peak form to appeal to the public and entertain your friends in the year ahead. Don't resist change, as the only things that will leave you this year are things that have outworn their welcome. In June you may have a chance to land a lucrative position (!!!) or otherwise improve your circumstances. Make key moves in August, but sit tight in September when your plans could be blocked. Be prepared for helpful assistance in December when your fondest prayers could be answered.

Oooooh.

Dad and I celebrated your birthday in Le Bistro in the Norwegian Sky after a day excursion in Puerto Vallarta. I had Norwegian Seafood Timbale that is Smoked salmon with avocado, shrimp and scallops filling on dill and chevril cream sauce for appetizer. Then Cream of forest mushroom served in a crusty dough loaf for soup. Mille-Feuille of seabass with tomato concasse and mushroom duxelles for entree. Since I was fo full I just had the "cooking light" suggestion of the classical French lemon tart for dessert. Dad had French escargots in garlic butter braised in fresh herbs and vegetable brunoise, oven- baked with Le bistro garlic butter. Had the same mushroom soup, and Filet Mignon rossini style with Foie gras and truffled veal au jus for entree. He also could not handle anymore cake from the Trolley de jour or the chocolate fondue or their unique flambe. He had the same lemon tart. The Pinoy waiter offered to sing happy birthday but just had our picture taken instead. That's how we'll remember your golden 27, a great dinner at a fancy French restaurant aboard a cruise ship sailing in the Pacific Ocean heading north to Cabo San Lucas. Wish you were there. Happy Birthday Son!
