Luckily work has slowed down just before the Holidays. It has given me time to look for houses in Rochester, and time to talk to mortgage consultants. Went house hunting just this past Tuesday. But I'd say it was more of an chance to see the quality of homes built by particular builders, and styles of houses. Since I'm not seeing the house I like out there on the market, I'm leaning towards building new. I found a floorplan I really liked, but now I just have to see if I can make the finances work. After speaking with a few lenders, I would be living on bread and water if I don't get a roommate. Looks like I'll be in savings mode for the next couple of months pooling as much money as I can for a down payment.
Lots of decisions to make in the next couple of weeks. I am definitely hoping I can get most of this straighten out before flying back home to Seattle.
What's not helping is that my class is taking up my free time. In the next two weeks, I have a homework, project and a final exam. Oooh, I really can't wait to take a vacation.
